Goals, Blogs, and AutoResponders - Issue 72 Jan 1 2008

Happy New Year!
2007 was good to me and I hope it was to you as well. The coming year gives us the opportunity to fix things that weren’t great last year and to renew our resolutions. If 2007 wasn’t good to you, I urge you to spend some time reading the upcoming newsletters and start making use of some of the tools available to you.

You will have undoubtedly noticed that the “From” line of this newsletter has changed names from ‘IBWT RE Newsletter’ to simply ‘Tech Realty® News’. I did this because I feel that it better represents the feel for the newsletter and also because I will be slowly phasing out the ibwt.com domain into something else. This has been a slow change and is still on-going but within the first quarter of 2008 I will be completely done with the switch. Now on to more pressing matters.

Creating your Goals

If you have not started creating your goals yet, now is the perfect time to do it. Many people will be recovering from their New Year’s party which should give you a couple of days to get started on your goals for 2008.

Some good ideas for your goals could be as simple as setting a dollar amount you would like to make and then devising a plan of action. More complex goals would consist of what you would like to learn this year.

My primary goal this year is to be consistent with this newsletter and provide information that is useful to my readers. There is no doubt that I have more experience in technology and marketing online but that does no good for you if I am not sharing my knowledge with you so this year I plan to share as much as I can to help you become successful with your online marketing strategy so be sure not to miss an issue.

Devising a plan of Action

The past few issues have been packed with information on blogging and drip email campaigns. This was done for several reasons - the primary one being that I have received numerous requests for information about both. The secondary reason is that these are quite possibly the best way to get new business and repeat business. The third reason is that I will be pushing much more information on how to really drive traffic to your blogs and gain leads through the use of both over the coming newsletters. If you have not set up a blog yet, I urge you to do so. You can realistically use any blogging platform you want. I do, however, recommend getting my book (Realty Blogging Basics) and set up your own. It is too easy to set up your own blog on your own domain for pennies on the dollar and utilizing your own domain name (.com) instead of using a generic domain like everyone else like blogger.com or wordpress.com etc.

You should also look into getting an account set up at AWeber for drip email campaigns if you do not already have one. It is $19.95/month and allows you to setup unlimited lists, unlimited autoresponders, etc. The only limit is the amount of people on the lists. At the base price you can have up to 10,000 subscribers and it is very minimal for additional ($10/month for 10,000 additional subscribers).
