Drip Email Campaigns

You see drip email campaigns in your daily life. When you signed up for this newsletter you saw one. The first email you received welcoming you ot the newsletter and then the second email you received three days later reinforcing the need to make use of the resources on the ibwt.com and techrealty.com sites were both “drip campaigns”.

Drip email campaigns can be a great way to increase your business, maintain client relationships, and keep early internet buyer leads from talking to others and repeatedly put your name in front of them so they will call you when they are ready to buy.

AWeber.com is a great place to get started with custom drip campaigns. Using their templates or your own, you can easily have drip campaigns set up in minutes, add an opt-in form at your website(s) and instantly be connecting with that potential client.

There are several companies that provide drip services but it has been my experience that AWeber is the best on many levels including better delivery rates and superfast customer service.

Setting up your Drip

After you go to AWeber and set up your account, you can instantly start creating lists and messages. Manage multiple lists for different websites, create a list for buyers and a different one for sellers. If you deal with investors, this is another idea for a list. If you want, you can even create a list for your garden club or Harley club - whatever you want. You have unlimited lists.

I recommend working on one list at a time so you can truly customize the feel of it. Create messages that will follow up with the clients. If you are not using AWeber, most other drip campaigns will allow you to set up follow-up messages as well and set the interval at which they are delivered. Using a provided template (or your own), you should create a few emails that will go out to potential clients that subscribe to that list. Make sure your template is consistent so your potential clients will recognize the email. Always use the same settings on your from and from email address as well so they can effectively white-list you in their email box.

To avoid sending “too much” email, it is considered good practice to set your follow-up emails 2-3 days apart or longer. Setting the days to send is a very important aspect of your drip campaign. After all, you wouldn’t want to send out 20 emails to someone the same day, would you? This would bombard them with emails that they would most likely delete and the only way they would remember you over the long term is as “the REALTOR® who spammed them” - not a name you want to be remembered by :)

When creating your follow up email messages, make sure you include information that is valuable to your list so they will perceive it as valuable and read additional mails. If they do not see the value in your campaign, they will unsubscribe and forget you. If they see the value, they will eventually email or call you.
